Continuing the Conversation after PGAM

In October 2017 a major gambling expansion bill was passed in Pennsylvania, allowing for the possibility of more legalized gambling than ever before. Over the past several years, we have seen increased availability and participation, but we have also seen an increase in individuals experiencing problems.

March is recognized nationally as Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM), a grassroots campaign which aims to increase awareness and understanding of problem gambling and available resources for help. It is vital for treatment and prevention professionals to continue building upon the foundations that are created during PGAM and play a role in raising awareness throughout the entire year. Just because March is over, the problems that folks experience do not stop.

Presenter:

  • Josh Ercole, Executive Director, CCGP

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:

  • Discuss ways to continue raising awareness of problem gambling and available resources throughout the year.
  • Identify the protections that have been included in legislated gambling, and how they may help prevent and address problems

  • Have awareness of available local resources
