Never Enough
A powerful program for lawyers and law students on gambling and other addictions
While the majority of gamblers “buy” the chance with their bets and “if nothing is caught,” they eventually quit, the addicted gambler cannot stop. He will often chase one bet with another and another until all his resources are depleted. Gambling addiction often results in financial devastation, destroyed marriages and criminal behavior. And suicide rates are highest among gambling addicts than those who suffer from other addictions. Michael Burke went from being a successful lawyer, loving father and husband, and respected member of his community to a closet alcoholic and gambling addict. His story on trading a substance abuse addiction for a compulsive gambling addiction is told in the book “Never Enough: One Lawyer’s True Story of How He Gambled His Career Away,“ published by the American Bar Association. Michael will share his story of the devastating effects of compulsive gambling in a compelling 3 hour program. His powerful presentation will open your eyes to the reality of gambling and alcohol addiction and what it can do to any professional’s life — even in the happiest and most successful of situations.
