Problem Gambling Integration into the Public Health Continuum from Prevention to Recovery
While opportunities for gambling continue to increase within Maryland and throughout the U.S. and world, Gambling Disorder remains under-recognized as a Behavioral Health Disorder. Integrating gambling into a Public Health Model which incorporates a full Continuum of Care: Promotion, Prevention, Treatment and Recovery is a new challenge for both clinicians and prevention specialists.
This advanced training will provide an overview of “traditional approaches” to addressing problem gambling from a silo mentality to one which promotes being mindful of the full range of gambling impacts – from healthy to problematic. Learning new strategies and skills in this Public Health Model is the goal of this training.
