Gambling effects on LatinX Communities
Participants of the workshop will gain insight to the utilization of cultural competency techniques and strategies within prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery supports. It will provide lesson learned in the practice of working with Latinx communities. The workshop will introduce thoughts and concepts related to the practice of cultural competency. Participants will leave with information to consider when working with priority populations.

Participants will be able to
- Discuss effects of problem gambling in the Latinx communities along with techniques and strategies in working with priority populations
- Describe barriers of services and health disparities impacting the Latinx communities
- Identify resources
Mental health professionals including psychologists, clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, substance abuse counselors, pastoral counselors, school counselors, as well as clergy, school administrators, recreational therapists, peer support specialists and all those interested in learning about problem gambling.
All webinars are free. However, pre-registration is required.
