Goals & Objectives
This course will provide the attendee with knowledge of the comprehensive view of the complex elements as it relates to the right actions for the professional in the Behavioral Health Field.
This session will use the theoretical framework of the Pathways Model of Problem Gambling to guide clinicians in assessing and designing treatment interventions for individuals with disordered gambling diagnoses.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:
- Be able to differentiate the characteristics of the three distinct pathways for problem gambling in the Pathways Model.
- Understand theoretical framework of the Pathways Model of problem and pathological gambling
- Learn methods for assessment of gambling problems using the Pathways Model.
- Learn best practices for treating disordered gambling based upon the distinct pathway involved in the development of an individual’s gambling problem.
- Examine challenges in using the Pathways Model in treating gambling problems.
