Helping the Faith Community Recognize, Respond To and Be a Resource For People Struggling With Gambling Issues
Problem Gambling can destroy individuals, families and communities, and members of the Faith Community are not immune from the ravaging impact of gambling. Members of a community that is aware of the danger and equipped to help can literally save lives.
, with a generous grant from Northampton County Drug & Alcohol, is pleased to offer these two sessions to help members of all faith groups to:
- Learn about gambling
- Understand gambling’s connection to other addictions
- Gain awareness of resources
- Develop strategies to help individuals, families and the community
Times & Locations
The 2 1/2 hour sessions are free of charge and will be held:
Thursday, March 31, 2016 • 6pm
Moravian Theological Seminary – Bahnson Center, 60 West Locust Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018
Wednesday April 6, 2016 • 6pm
First Baptist Church – 3235 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017
Light refreshments will be served and each session will include time for questions and discussion. Each session will cover the same information, and you are invited to choose either of the sessions. We welcome people of all backgrounds and faiths, church leaders, church members, and anybody who is interested in learning more about gambling addiction and its impact.
Each session will be facilitated by Greg Krausz and Bruce Bowen, partners at Monocacy Counseling. Both Greg and Bruce are Licensed Professional Counselors and both hold Certificates of Competency in Problem Gambling. They are both highly regarded presenters and regularly conduct trainings throughout the State on a variety of topics.
