Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem Sponsors a workshop presented by The Council on Compulsive Gambling of Pennsylvania, Inc.

Problem Gambling & Ethics

This training will address ethical considerations in addiction treatment, specifically gambling addiction. The presentation will include the functions of ethical codes, values/morals and laws impacting the gambling addiction professional, the agency and the client. Case studies will be discussed throughout the course to promote greater understanding of ethical challenges that those working in the field of gambling treatment may encounter. Ethical decision making models will be presented to help guide the practitioner.

Trainer:

Nancy Milliron, Consultant Trainer for the Council on Compulsive Gambling of PA, Inc.

Nancy has worked in the addictions field for more than 30 years in a variety of positions from prevention to treatment to administration. She holds a Masters Degree in counseling, is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor (retired), a Certified Case Management Supervisor, and holds a Certificate in Problem Gambling. For more than 18 years, in addition to full time employment in the addictions field, she has been an educator and trainer for addictions professionals and a consultant with managed care organizations. In addition to providing basic required training for addictions professionals, she has also developed and presented several other trainings specific for more advanced clinical needs.
