Outcomes
At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:
- Describe gambling motivated crime and issues related to problem gamblers in the carceral system
- Identify clinical interventions to use when working with clients that may have already committed gambling-motivated crimes
- Explain how to write clinical reports when providing expert testimony to client’s attorney, judge, etc. vs skills to use when serving as an expert witness
- Identify at-risk groups for problematic gambling and gaming in PA based on statewide data
- Describe cultural considerations for those working with at-risk communities who identify as Latino/a/x/e
- Discuss why veterans are at a higher risk for problem gambling behavior and how to assist those who are struggling
- Identify the importance of increasing advocacy for problem gambling awareness and treatment for the veteran community

This program is offered for 6.0 hours of social work continuing education through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, a Council on Social Work Education-accredited school and, therefore, a PA pre-approved provider of social continuing education.
