Gambling Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment
Problem gambling is any gambling, betting or wagering that causes individuals or their families to have financial, legal, emotional or other problems. Gambling Disorder is classified in the “Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders” in the DSM-5. Knowing the signs, and screening for problem gambling can help with getting people referred to treatment services when needed.
This program will explore a method that can be integrated into existing assessments and offer professionals a resource to identify potential issues and better serve clients who may be experiencing gambling related problems.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:
- Become familiar with gambling and factors included in the development of problematic gambling
- Discuss potential warning signs of problem gambling
- Have awareness of screening tools and available local and regional resources

This live program has been approved by the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization (IPGGC) – attendees who complete the live webinar will be eligible to receive 1.0 hours of credit
