Lackawanna County Webinar – College Students & Gambling

Gambling is an activity that many college students participate in for a number of different reasons – to win money, for excitement, to connect socially. Regardless of the reason, gambling is an activity with risks, and students can be affected by gambling related issues in several ways.

Recent studies indicate that teens and college aged individuals experience gambling problems at a higher rate that adults. As we see new types of gambling becoming available, that is often attractive to this demographic, it is more important than ever to have programs in place and to raise awareness of issues that individual may potentially face, as well as how to access available help.
